E-mail problems: PlusNet/Yahoo/1&1

I have got a really strange problem with my e-mail set up, would appreciate any ideas !
I have two e-mail addresses with my ISP (plusnet):
fred@plusnet.com
fredSmith@plusnet.com
I also have my own domain/e-mail addresses with 1 & 1, of which I use:
fred@mydomain.net
I set up diverts on both the plusnet addresses: fred@plusnet goes to a yahoo address, spam@yahoo.co.uk and fredsmith@plusnet goes to fred @mydomain.net
This has been working fine for months. My email on fred (98% spam) goes to yahoo and the e-mail on fredsmith@plusnet goes to fred @mydomain. I check the yahoo account now and again just to see if there is anything of import in there.
1 & 1 have been having e-mail problems (not impressed with their responses !) which now appear sorted. I did not change any of my e-mail settings.
Now - anything addressed to fredsmith@plusnet is not diverted to 1 & 1, it just stays in the plusnet webmail. Anything addressed to fred@plusnet just vanishes ! If I go to Yahoo it is empty, not even any spam (usually 20+ a day). If I address an e-mail direct to the Yahoo account it gets there.
I am baffled ! All I have tried so far is to cancel the two diverts in plusnet and then re-instate them - I have now run out of ideas.
I must say that I never thought I would be concerned if I stopped getting spam !
Any thoughts, please ?
