Rome Trip

i am going to rome :j in feb and am concerned about finding places to eat that serve fairly plain- english food- this isnt for me -its for my mother who is 70 and travelling with us - shes just a plain eater and wouldnt even consider trying anything like pasta-pizza or anything tomato based- any advise would be appreciated - thanks

Hi,
Rome is full of self service restaurants where you can have all sort of plain foods, like grilled meat, vegetables etc. Look for the chain Ciao (Autogrill) if you want good quality plain food that is also reasonably priced.
There are also plenty of fast food restaurants like McDonald's.
You can have plain foods in any restaurants, just look on the menu under Secondi "main courses" as traditionally in Italy pasta is served as a first course and meat or fish dishes afterwards. However be prepared to spend more for meat dishes than for pasta.
