Back boiler pipes have been cut

We have recently moved into a property where the existing fireplace was bricked up. We removed the bricks as we were thinking of putting in a stove. When we removed the bricks we noticed there are pipes down either side of the chimney breast (assume this is for back boiler) but they have been cut (not stop ended) suggesting the water has been blocked off at another location.
Is there any obvious place where this connection would have been blocked off? We would like to bring it back into use but not if it involves lifting floorboards etc to find out where these pipes have been blocked at

The pipes will have been cut at both ends.
At the back boiler & somewhere near your hot water cylinder.

If they are copper, they could well be reusable.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Might be reusable as suggested but there may well be rubbish in the pipework. My house was a new build (some years ago now....). It came with many features some good and some bad e.g. pea shingle in the hotwater supply - discovered long after the house was handed over - oh, how I laughed (as the water slowed to a trickle)!
Can you blow down the pipes? If they aren't capped using your mobile why not play a ring tone (holding the phone up to the cut end). Maybe the OH/son/daughter can listen around the place for the sound - you might stike it lucky and find the ends but get them flushed if you reuse!!0 -
