Not sure where to put this but iv'e just taken a call from some random guy aksing if we have the bmw for sale which we dont have as wedont own 1. Im trying to find the ad(if it exists at all) to get teh number removed.

1. No idea how the our number is on the ad as we are ex dir and only people who have the number are employers and friends.

2. Apart form looking through every ad for a bmw is there a faster way of finding the ad. I tried searching google with our number and auto trader

3. Should I be worried as im not sure if I should be or not although I think its right I am.

4. Ive had a search on auto trader for bmws in the area, i know for sure he said bmw but im not sure if he said 3 series or m3.

5. If the ad does exist then google would bring up a result right.

6. Unless of course the guy misdialled

google the telephone number they rang you on, you should find something to do with the advert then.
  • I would guess the guy misdialled, especially if you have only had the one phone call. Can you not call the guy back (if you have caller display showing his number of course) and check what number he wanted.

with held his number, [STRIKE]i was a little concerned but im actually beginning to think he actually mis dialled[/STRIKE], we had someone call last wanting to speak to her friend so its possible he miss dialled. If we were to get more calls then yes definitely something to be concerned about.

Just by a stroke of luck ive found the ad, not sure how to proceed, should i contact auto trader and the seller ?

how are you going to do that? if you ring the number it will be engaged.

(Ok I know they probably have an email address)

PS I bet with those details I could find you number very quick if I was so inclined

I meant google the phone number that he dialled ie. your mobile number/landline.

How would googling his number come up with an advert with yours on?!

so by finding the ad you must be able to tell if he misdialled or if the ad is wrong /

I didnt know what to think at first but yes as ive found the ad he didnt mis dial as the ad had the 1 number on there which was incorrect.

Just need to wait for the seller to read my message and change the number.
