    Forgot to mention, the house/mortgage is in my name solely - does this make a difference ? I want to be fair though, but I will defo consult a solicitor as advised.

  • It makes no difference that the property is in your name only, it is an asset of the marriage and will be treated as such regardless whose name is on the title deeds.

    Why is it solely in your name? thats very unusual.

    I know you want to be fair, but being fair doesn't necessarily mean dividing the assets equally. One person could receive a larger share and it could still be fair
