    The problem with file infectors is that even if the AV can disinfect the file, you could end up with lots of corrupted files that require replacing. If you miss one thing, you could be back at square one.

    Backup, format, reinstall.

    if i were to back up now , would the files still stay infected?

    Only backup your personal documents as mentioned earlier, or anything else you can't do without. Don't back up the whole operating system.

    Best not to access the backups after reinstalling Windows until you've first set up proper security on the PC, and have also scanned the backups you've made with multiple scanners, e.g. Dr Web CureIT, your antivirus, Malwarebytes, etc.

    You'd only back up files of the type Ramnit doesn't infect; your photo's, music etc. Everything else - programs and the like - can be downloaded & reinstalled after you've reinstalled th OS.

    Repaired them? Link

    Perhaps you should run it from a Recovery Disc, to ensure that you have an uncorrupted source. Do you have a disc?

    Otherwise;

    These instructions will assist you in the repairing of your computer:

    Download and save this Windows 7 Recovery Disc Image to a working computer if Windows 7 32bit or this image if Windows 7 64bit.
    Next, download and install ImgBurn(No need to install the Google Toolbar. Remove the relevant tick). Burn the Image to Disc. Use this guide(skip step 2b)

    You can then use these instructions to assist you with access to the Registry via Command Prompt.

    thanks for all your help guys .
    I have scanned repeatedly overnight , and also wiped free space on c drive , NO infections found !
    so fingers crossed everything is fine with no need to do much else .... for now .
    seems to be running faster now aswell , I think ESET sorted the ones MWBytes couldnt , and the system checker removed 15 errors for free , maybe I have just been lucky but hoping ramnit has had its !!!! kicked
