Lead paint test kit

Options
Hi,

Does anyone know where I can buy a lead paint test kit? I tried B&Q and they said they could order me some in but it would take a month?!?

Google isn't even helping the only ones to buy online seem to be shipped from the US which will take just as long as B&Q!?!?

Or should I just stop worrying and get sanding?!?

Cheers

D

All B&Q's sell them, have you got another near by they were just probably out of stock.

If not the tinterweb would be easiest option or small hardware shop

Obviously, it would make sense to take steps to minimise the amount of dust you (or anyone else) ingest or inhale but unless you are a child or pregnant the lead in lead paint shouldn't do you much harm.
  • I understood that the potential damage of lead paint was much more serious and that sanding of lead paint should only be done wet with wet and dry paper.

I didn't know that a test kit was available for lead paint, I shall get one of these myself as our stairs may well have been painted pre-1960's.
