We have a Mac Mini (2ghz processor) which we use atrached to the TV a a media centre We never upgraded to Snow leopard, but im wondering what it would add to our experience to upgrade to snow leopard then lion It is used mainly for music via itunes through the hifi, DVDs ans occasional web browsing
Would you bother upgrading the OS, what would i gain?

It would barely make a difference for what you use it for. Although, depending how tech savvy you are or want to become, you may enjoy all of the new features of Lion, I've found myself using applications I've never even thought about since upgrading from Show Leopard to Lion.0

I have a Mac Mini for a similar purpose; it's plugged in to my TV and I use it for watching films and that sort of thing. I upgraded to Lion, but have since downgraded back to SL. I use a lot of file sharing and Apple Remote Desktop to manage my data, and I have my mac mini set to auto shut down. With Lion, auto shut down wasn't possible as I would get an error message about other users sharing my machine (Even if all other computers were switched off). This was the main reason I downgraded. I didn't see any real benefit in upgrading other than that.
However, it might be a good idea to go to SL, as I don't believe Leopard has the App Store? And as time goes on more and more software is going to be solely available through the app store, so might be worth upgrading just for that? But not worth the extra cost to Lion IMO. (Unless of course you have other Macs that you want to upgrade, then you can upgrade the Mini at no extra cost, so why not!)0 -
The App Store comes up on my Snow Leopard MacBook Pro.
I've not upgraded, because I don't see what the new features would do for me.
I think Apple said something about enhanced security, so that may be a worthwhile reason.0 -

You wouldn't really gain anything for what you use it for, if anything you will lost out to the tune of 20 odd from your wallet.
I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro and I upgraded to Lion but to be honest I hardly use any of the new features but the ones I do use (Launchpad, new version of Mail) make life simpler compared to the old way.0
