Flights to Canada

I agree with Tumbleweed about Air Canada. Up until lat November I'd only ever booked through Canadianaffair but they didn't have flights to Calgary in November. I was amazed that a big airline like Air Canada didn't have seatback tv's in economy, you had to watch small screens that were along the centre of the plane. As I had a window seat I couldn't see anything. The food was by far the worst that I've ever had on a flight and I usually manage to tuck into anything! Re. prices, I booked about ten weeks beforehand and the price fell by about £50 by the time I went. But I didn't want to take a chance on waiting.
I've been looking at Canadianaffairs site for prices for April and they have relatively big fuel surcharges to add to their normal low fares now. So on the dates that I need they are as expensive as Air Canada (who I wouldn't fly with of course!). Has anyone else found Canadianaffair to be not competitive this year?:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
I flew AirTransat to Toronto in Nov and they were pretty good. they are mainly a airline for people on the other side of the pond and they fill the seats by selling overhere as 2nd string market.
they are NOT a ryanair or easyjet type of outfit thats for sure.
seat pitch is excellent and seats are comfy. makes you realise how squashed in you are on Virgin Atalantic !!! . my advice is ask for the 2 seats on their own at the back on the window sides where the plane narrows and the seats across narrow from 3 to 2. we sat there both flights and it was as good as Virgin Premium Economy IMO.
unfortunatly it costs to pre book seats with them but we got the seats by asking at check in no problems
In flight entertainment is adequate but nothing special ( a good excuse to treat yourself to a nice MP3 player) . food is standard airline fare and drinks are charged for at reasonable price ( still not as good as free but you cannot expect this with their prices)
would use them again for sureBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I agree about getting the back rows of seats that are in pairs but don't book that very back two seats though as they don't recline at all!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0
