All Co-op Cashminder Account Holders Check Your Accounts?????

Hi All,

Just thought i would let you know that on checking my account this morning i found a £2 Visa Charge on my account. I knew i did not use my card on the said date so i called customer services.

I was put on hold and then told that it was a computer glitch and that the monies would be returned to my account within 2 days.

I mentioned i knew from the press they had problems from the weekend to which the agent agreed so i wondered if others may have been charged the same so you may want to check your accounts and also get in touch with them as i got the feeling there might be quite a few.

Ohhh thank you for that, i check my a/c first thing and saw it on one of my two cashminders. I knew it was wrong too and will phone after the school run.

thank you for posting this, i too have this charge!
i did have debits come out first today taking it OD but then credits came in all on the same day, usually if this happens i dont get charged, so was going to call!

its only £2 but thought i could be someone getting charged to try use my card details abroad or something!!!

Well i am glad i posted and i was worried that if you have recently taken an account and had yet to use it you may have been taken overdrawn but this causing a strike on the account so the sooner people call the better this will be. I also wondered if Co-op would be checking this error and reversing it or just sit back and wait to see if customers call about it.

Hi,
Just phoned and due to card upgrades (??) if you have made an online payment to certain companies (mine was to the National Lottery - sorry) then some organisations have made this £2 charge. It will be refunded at some point (no idea when...).
It is just a glitch and we won't be charged for using our cards online.

My main cashminder hasn't been affected but this newer one has, looks like it depends on what and with whom you have used it with recently.

If you were taken overdrawn due to the banks fault, you would not incur a strike against you anyway.
