Kiddies travel card
My 2 nieces are coming to visit in a couple of weeks time and intend to go into london a couple of times whilst they are here (live in Zone 5)
I have to say that I have gotten very confused by the TLF website on trying to find out what I will have to do with them re tickets etc as both of them are under 10 (but over 5)
Looking at the site it seems to say that they can travel for free on the tube/ tram/ bus when accompanied with an adult with the correct ticket and wont need any photocard or such
Getting into London however requires the use of rail and this is where it gets confusing. From what I can see an off peak travel card could be bought for both of them at £1 each (again accompanying an adult with a normal price card) again needing nothing more to buy the ticket but it isnt clear.
Phoned TFL who said had to speak to national rail and national rail say have to speak to TFL. The £1 travel ticket seems odd given that even a single off peak from zone 5 to zone 1 is more expensive than this.
Does anyone know what the correct answer is?
