Barclays Update-Thanks Niggly

Well after hearing from Barclays around the 31st of August offering us a good will gesture of £1800, as they had lost all of the paperwork for our loan. I posted on here and got some advice off Niggly and some helpful others. I was wondering whether to just accept it.
Our claims company told us to accept it and sent us a bill for about £500.
I wrote to Barclays with a counter offer, and have heard nothing from them since. So we went back to the FOS and they said Barclays should have our loan information and they would get onto them.
Well today I received an email from the claims company asking for approx £1400. I email them back , asking how they figure that and it transpires Barclays have agreed to pay us £4600. Whoop! well We are really happy with this after all of this time.
However we are a bit annoyed at the claims company , had we listened to their expert advice . We would be 2k worse off. GRRRRR
So thanks to Niggly and all those who helped. Just got to wait for the cheque now and some actual correspondence off Barclays.
