Egypt all inclusive .... its all about the food

Options
Hi we have decided to go to Egypt, all inclusive, in January and it seems the biggest complaints people have is the food. We have asked friends and had a recomendation for full board at Cleopatra Luxury Resort which will be at the top of our budget.

Anyone else had a good experience with the food and could offer a recomendation? There are so many reviews online that booking this holiday is turning into a chore.

Thanks in anticipation.

which area of egypt are you wanting to travel to?
have a look on tripadvisor forum for the area of egypt you are interested in. then read reviews for hotels.

Hi Thanks sorry I should have said Sharm, just to relax and snorkle. I have looked on trip adviser and a couple of others and the choice is mind boggling and so many people have said that the holiday was spoilt by the food.

I think I'm overthinking it now if you know what I mean.

reef oasis blue bay is in sharm.we really couldnt fault it. not the cheapest of hotels but the best we have stayed in.
the coral and fish are amazing,we snorkled there. there is another reef oasis hotel i believe the temple reef is there, but reef oasis blue bay is the better hotel

it is only bookable with thomson/first choice in the uk.its exclusive to tui. what dates are you wanting to travel?
only my personal opinion but we also stayed at jaz mirabel beach also 5* and nowhere near as nice as robb. one of our party was also very ill after staying there for weeks after we came home. the food was not impressive either, but this was 2 year ago things might have improved

Might be worth checking out the Baron Resort in Sharm as well, it's a Thomas Cook exclusive but is ultra all inclusive.

Just thought I would add............be open minded when you read about people writing about how they got food poisoning and gave them dodgy tummy. A lot of stomach upsets are not caused by the food in Egypt, they are caused by drinking too much alcohol in intense heat, over indulging on food in general and not using hand sanitizers/handling money.

I have had two work mates stay at Reef Oasis Blue Bay this year and they both raved about it. I would consider maybe doing 10/11 days but staying somewhere higher end.

PS - You might want a wetsuit for snorkeling! I dived in Dahab at the end of March and was the only [STRIKE]idiot[/STRIKE] hard nut not wearing neoprene, the water is chilly in the winter! :D

  • Hi completely agree with jtr2803 alot of reviews moan about the food stating it gave them food poisoning. We went to sharm with our 2 children one was 15 months at the time and yes we had upset tummys but we tend to get them weneva we venture outside europe. y also believe down to heat/alcohol/eating too much/tap water etc I would never say food poisoning. We found the food brill always something we liked to eat and plenty of choice. Owe dont stay in the most expensive hotels as we need a bargain to be able to afford to go we stayed in sharm sunrise island garden resort and are next yr returning but staying at sunrise tirana aquapark and will have a 22month
old, 4yru old and 12 yr old it wouldnt take my kids back if I believed the reviews.

    Enjoy ur hol
  • Hi...when I was there last November, one of the gides told us the Hilton is one of the best for food??? Baron Resort (not Palms) is verry good.
