I think this is the blog mentioned above. It is quite tear-jerking frm what I've read so far, especially the poem in the latest blog entry so pick your moment to read it.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Hello!
I'm Kylie writer of not even a bag of sugar. Yes, today's post is a bad one for you to read, but I write some positive ones too! Hopefully its indexed ok, and there is a search box.
My son wasn't as early as yours he was a 27 weeker, but he stopped growing at 24 weeks.
I think the first months at home are the toughest but it does get easier!
We got the disability talk several times, cerebral palsy, yada yada, and our attitude was the same, just let him grow up and we'll deal with it.
He's now 2 and a half, and you would never know in a million years that he was so small and frail and sick.
Sending you lots of love

There is a really great board on Fertility Friends with (unfortunately) loads of people in the same sort of situation:

Hi Steph.
My daughter who is 10 next month was born at 24 weeks and spent 4 months in neo-natal. She weighed 1lb 3oz.
I developed pre-eclampsia at 22 weeks and me and bubs nearly died.
I did find it overwhelming with all the hospital appts, which included child development centre, paediatrician, eye hospital (she had to have surgery on her eyes, due to being on oxygen for so long). Luckily she's fine now and you wouldn't know she was even premature.
The nurses at both City Hospital (Dudley Road) Birmingham and Walsall Manor were great and I can't thank them enough. Hubby was my rock.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
not me but my good mate had twins at 25 weeks. They spent months in hospital on CPAPs, but were released from NICU just around their due date.
They will be 2 next month and although a little slow in walking, they are hitting targets really well....if a tad late (month/two).
My mate found the first 6 months of them at home quite tough, but now can see the wood for the trees!
Best of luck with your baby and hope you fall into the swing of things easily!0 -
Hiya:) mum to a 1lb 9oz 27 weeker (IUGR stopped growing at 23 weeks). She's 7 now,has spent far too many months in hospital, still tube fed via gastrostomy with a rubbish chest etc, still under 4 hospitals, dietician, physio, SALT, opthalmology, audiology, asthma nurse, comm nurse, orthoptics, blah blah but a cheekymonkey
