Being accused of fronting.

mypolicy.co.uk have given me a decent quote. After calling them up and attempting to purchase the policy I was told that they wouldn't insure our car.
It's an 09 1Series BMW that we bought last year. The car is used by my Mum most days to travel to work, occasional on-call (she's a nurse) and general use.
I'm 32, but because I'm 'young', they wouldn't insure the car unless it was in my name. I find it ridiculous that because I'm deemed higher risk, the policy needs to be in my name.
We only have one car, I generally use public transport for work, etc. I actually only use it 2-3 times a week. When I asked the call-centre operator what deemed this policy to be flagged as a fronting risk his explanation was "we can't insure this car that way round". Incredible.
Anyone else had issues with this company? I wanted to search but I'm new to this forum and still finding my way round.
Anyone else been accused of fronting a policy? How wide-spread is this?

If you are the registered keeper on the log book, many companies would want you noted as the policyholder. If your mum is the main driver, they can note that.
I don't think they are saying that you were attempting to front or if they did it was poor communication. I think they just wanted the registered keeper to be the policyholder. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
