Belling customer helpline

Yes, I know it's an 0844 number.....
Yesterday, daughter succesfully cooked her pizza, when I went to cook the sausages, the oven had fan action, but no heat (ended up grilling them).
Spoke to Belling helpline today 0844 815 3746 - got a chirpy chappy from Liverpool way (going by his accent), he helped me through the symbols, as I've never had the full instruction book, but understand that the fan oven element may have gone, but I can still use the conventional oven as it has a different heating element - nice touch Belling, means I'm not left in the lurch halfway through a roast.
Downside, could not pinpoint my oven from the model, serial number I read off the label - evidently serial number was not long enough, but it was all I had.
Downside number 2 (my fault) - tried to fire up the conventional oven that I never use - a load of smoke as the splattered grill type element at the top of the oven is truly filthy

Upside - I now know I can just get a new element from a local domestic applicance repairers, hopefully cheaper than a whole new oven that was looking around the £400 mark.
So, praise to Belling for having the elements from their conventional and fan ovens separate, and I got straight through on the Helpline.
