I have £30,000 in an ICICI HiSave account and am in the process of applying for a mortgage via a French bank. They require a statement from all my savings accounts showing my name, address, account number and balance...usual statement information, or so I thought. Oh yes, there's a £10,000 limit, isn't there. It would have to be broken into 3 x £10,000 transfers (I think these can still be initiated on the same day?).

In any case, some people have experienced serious delays when they tried to close their account, so it's well worth doing.
