Connecting xbox live to Virgin wireless..HELP

Can anyone help me please? My son is trying to connect his xbox live to the virgin router but it wont connect, he has used all the codes on the side of the router but to no avail even though they work ok on his laptop.:(
Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.

Thanks for asking, yes he has a wireless adapter for his xbox and it worked fine when he was on sky and yes he has an ethernet cable which works fine but he cant seem to set up his wireless connection. He has changed the password of the router but his xbox wont recognise it (his lap top does) cheersBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Don't know whether this is your problem but I had to manually alter the default gateway
