Schedule 4 Debate here

Latest from parliament Schedule 4 is quite a way in on this doc so best search for "parking" to get to it.

I have only skimmed it but HMG seem totally clueless e.g. they mention "self regulation" and "independent appeals" as if the two can co -exist ...clearly a self regulated appeals system is NOT independent !!!!

They will never "Get It" whilst they have holes in their bottoms imho, they cannot get it through their thick skulls that the BPA and it's members don't do fair play, they are totally devoid of any scruples when there are invoices to send.

Apart from the faith they seem to have in the BPA!!:p

At least some of them are beginning to see they could be replacing one scam with another!

This quote shows the utter ignorance of the MPs

The protection offered is that only a member of an accredited trade association—currently the British Parking Association—will be allowed access to DVLA information-

Utter bilge ..non BPA members will continue to get DVLA data for £2.50 a pop. Their reasonable cause being that the keeper is best placed to know (and tell them) who the driver was ....they will then continue to harass keepers with their lies about CPR 31.16 and threats of NPOs !!!

although thinking about it who would these non BPA memebers be ? I mean we all know that anyone can be in the BPA ..even convicted criminals like OPC !!!!
  • Well pending Royal Assent, it's law now in whatever form it finally went through.

No it isn't it has not even reached the Lords yet !
  • Whoops, sorry, well done you're absolutely right! I misread the relevant tweet from my MP and forgot my own knowledge of the system. It is late though...

More drivel from HMG today before this goes to the Lords
" If parking operators want keepers’ details from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, they have to be members of the British Parking Association, which will ensure a high standard. If there are issues around BPA members, I am sure that the Government will want actively to take that up with the BPA to ensure that its standards are enhanced.

High standards ? the BPA !!!!!!? Who the hell do they think they are kidding ..!

The BPA wouldn't know a "High Standard" if it kicked their backsides and slapped them around the face with a wet mackerel...
