possable problem with reclaim...

I was thinking about checking the PPI on a secured loan which the ex and I had about 3 years ago.

If it's successful, will the repayment cause problems if we don't have a joint bank account anymore?

I'd rather be in the know before I mention it to him.

Any redress payments can be made via a cheque or you can request new bank account details you wish the redress payment to be made to but if it was a joint loan both parties will need to sign and agree to this ;)

    Good luck on this.
If the loan was joint, even if the ppi just covered the one as both applicants were still responsible for the full loan that includes the ppi, I think you can make a joint reclaim, but hopefully someone will clarify on this, or that permission maybe required.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks for the reply although I don't think my post was clear.

I was intending saying to my ex that we both ask for the money back, my question should have been - if successful, will payment be sent in both names or to one of us on the understanding that we pay half over when it clears?

I wouldn't do it behind his back although I have a feeling that he has maybe already tried it behind mine...... lol
