Money Maker, blueye states in her second post that it takes 1 1/2 hrs per week to transport her colleague.
She then states in that second post that she is miffed that she has had to give up a 'paid 1/2 hour call each day' to accomodate this.
Therefore, has she lost 2 1/12 hrs pay a week, and obviously a 2 1/2 hr cut in normal working hours?
Yet she will only receive a mileage payment to transport a colleague during her own time?0 -
Yes, rather than losing 2.5 hours pay, she is losing 5 x 1/2 hour call as this has been removed from her rota to give her time to pick up the colleague. On reflection, she may well take colleague to the colleagues first call/office and perhaps one of the drivers takes over rather than working together.
It's a funny old job as most places only pay for the calls themselves rather than the travelling time. The mileage she does is fairly irrelevant as most companies pay mileage anyway bar the first 10 miles.
Another alternative is to agree to transport the colleague but only if they are ready to leave home earlier and under the provisio that she gets back her first call. Unless of course it is too far from the office/colleague drop off point.
Perhaps OP can come back later to clarify. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
