occupational therapy

My GP has asked the local OT people to visit me.

Can anyone tell me what I might expect from the visit?

I have mobility issues and difficulty walking and standing up.

  • They come, ask you questions, discuss ways you can adapt your actions to use equipment to perform simple, normal tasks and if possible, get you appropriate equipment.

It can be a bit sad when you realise how much you have been unable to do, but that wears off as you plan how you can cope better.

I liked my OT very much and she actually got me out of a top floor flat in an isolated hilly area into where I am now - after 17 years of being told there was nothing wrong with it and I was fine there :( So I now have a wetroom and a bathroom and everything that a new house should :J
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
