Outlook - Address Group

I have created an Address group ('Friends') containing about 25 email addresses. When I use this 'Friends' group to send an email there is a small + sign in front of it, in the 'To:-' box, and when the email gets sent all the email addresses are shown in the 'To:-' box.
Can this be turned off, so that the receipients only ever see 'Friends', thereby protecting eveyones emails addresses?
Could use BCC, but would rather not.
Using Outlook 2003.

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

Currently using 2007 but there's a 'private' option when creating a distribution list.0

No. Your email client can't hide the addresses because the core of the email network needs to see all of the recipients explicitly. The only way is to use the Bcc: field (which is what it's designed for). However, if you do that and put a dummy email address in the To: field they should see it - even if it can't be delivered to.0 -
Or send it to yourself and Bcc to the rest.No free lunch, and no free laptop
