What justification do you feel you have in demanding more than the £600 already offered off the bill and more than 24 months to pay off your debt?
You run a business and have used the gas, and you seem to know exactly when you have been overcharged. However just a little matter of £2,200 was not noticed???
I cannot understand how you feel your case deserves sympathy; frankly I feel you have been treated well. If BG take court action against you and cut off your gas, as they are perfectly entitled to do, I expect you will be on here complaining about the dreaded BG.0 -
Can someone please explain to me how a company who sends out different people to read your gas meter every quarter have approximately 12 different people over 3/4 years do the same thing and read only five digits of a six digit meter?
If he wasn't the meter reader's fault, then it must be the company. How is it possible then only one household had this problem at least that we know of?
Therefore, there must be 1000's more out there.
Go to the newspaper and lets find out!!!FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0 -
Which digit did they miss out? Something still doesn't make sense. How can one digit out of six have such an impact? What am I missing here?FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0

e.g.
00056(9)
00192(7)
00356(9)...
300 units -> 3000 units would have quite an impact in my book.
but in that case it should have been picked up the first time it was read as 5 digits i.e reading lot lower than previous one0 -

there could be various reasons for it. The six digits could have been submitted but because it didn't fit in they didn't get used on the bills. It happens.
Rule number 1. Read you own meter
Rule number 2. Check meter readings are consistent with what's on bills
Meters aren't always read every 3 months by the meter readers. Legally the supplier is only supposed to ensure they are read by a meter reader every two years. Scary I think!Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
I have just checked by BG bills. None of my bills going back to 1999 have ever been read with six (6) digits. It was four (4) digits up to the March 2004-June 2004 quarter when they changed to five (5) digits. They have remained five (5) since then.
So, it is not entirely clear what BG is saying to the OP. Does this mean that every customer is going to get a letter?
Something not making sense here.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0 -
Commercial meters often have 6 dials. Domestic meters never do unless you live in property which used to be commercial, but even then it is very rare as they are usually taken out.0
