email error - any ideas?

Good Morning.

Turned on computer today, 4 emails arrived OK, tried to send some out & got the following error message. Have turned computer off & on. Internet connection working fine.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'finance', Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 Invalid Smtp line - Should end with CRLF', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Has anyone any idea how I can sort this out?

Many thanks.

Wait until BT sort out their problems with their mail servers.

Look on their home page for any status updates regarding mail issues.

Thanks SG, status is fine, but I'm being told I have an incompatible browser. Funny, everything was fine till this morning & I've changed nothing?

When you say wait for BT to sort out their mail servers, do you mean that in general there is a problem or a specific problem atm?
