PPI refunds

Hi

im new to this & in need of some advice, my mother is using a claims handler to get a PPI refund on her credit card, she has now been told by the handler that she can get a refund but the only way she can get it is by it getting credited back on to her credit card, they said she cant get a chq sent out to her for this, i dont think it sounds right, has anyone else heard of this? its been going on for almost a year now. If she has cut up her credit card surly they cant refund anything onto it also if she does get it on the card & uses it she would be paying interest on the card again there for she is getting it back but the credit card company are getting in back in the way of interest?

If the card is still active, it appears that if any balance is outstanding this is what they mainly do, but I may be wrong, and any interest I assumed would be paid directly to your mum, but hopefully someone can clarify on this.

However, I am not sure on how claim handlers deal with reclaims, I take it then they will be taking off something for themselves as well?

if your mum has paid the money for the ppi and the account is not in arrears then she is entitled to the money back. if she is not in any arrears then threaten to take them to fos
