Hi,

when it comes to online payments is there a way how to accept debit cards only? I'm setting a small online business dealing with customers overseas and I'm afraid of friendly fraud, so I'd like to avoid credit cards if possible... I've spent hours searching the internet but can't find anything...

Thank you

Well, you may have your reasons, but as a consumer, I always pay for online purchases by credit card for additional peace of mind if something goes wrong.

Merchant services can filter out the cards you don't want, streamline etc. Ask your business manager who they deal with.
  • What about using paypal or Sagepay?

Can you filter how people pay in Paypal?

OP I'm not sure why you want to restrict it to debit cards. As far as I know customers can ask for a chargeback with both credit and debit cards.
  • No, with PayPayl you don't have the choice. Either both credit and debit cards or no cards at all.

I have to say I've never heard of a debit card chargeback before that's why I didn't think about it. However it looks like it's not very common...
