Threads about 50% drops expected to fall by 50%

Read an interesting article today about how after an initial surge in old posts about house prices falling 50%, we could actually see a 50% decrease in threads about house prices falling 50%. If we did see a 50% drop in threads about house prices dropping 50% I would certainly consider renting, as a 50% reduction in threads about house prices dropping 50% certainly seems appealing.
Does anyone else see a 50% drop in threads about 50% drops in house prices on the horizon, or does a 50% drop in the threads about 50% drops in house prices seem unlikely? Maybe there's only a 50% chance of a 50% reduction in the amount of 50% off house prices threads. Hard to tell really.

God I hope so.
It's a never ending nonsense on here, every few months somebody starts another one of these idiotic threads, without realising just how often it's been proven wrong in the past.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

That'd be nice. But I think the board is well and truly spammed. I think he's drunk. Most people would grab a kebab and then fall asleep, but I don't think that's our Hamish's idea of a good time...0 -

Any particular reason you haven't popped up on the endless threads about 50% falls, asking the posters to stop spamming the boards with threads about 50% falls?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

To be fair most of them are linked to articles about 50% falls. This is a discussion forum about house prices, so posting up house price-related articles does seem logical. That isn't really spamming is it?0 -

And so when another tedious and repetitive article appears about 50% falls, it's hardly spamming to bring up the last 20 threads with exactly the same premise.

As much as this bout of thread resurrection is OTT, I do think it's important not to let people get away with silly threads and predictions sometimes, otherwise they'll carry on spreading even more crap around.
I even have a favourites folder especially for that purpose
