nothing but faults with my car on finance!!!
Options
hi,
i bought a seat altea from bristol st motors in december 2009. the car is currently on on a hire purchase agreement & im paying £190 p/m.
its the 2006 1.9 tdi reference model.
the problem is, ive had the dual mass fly wheel break for the 3rd time!
its been repaired under the warranty but im not happy. the 3rd time in less than 10,000miles??? !!!!!!! (the word negligence springs to mind)
im no longer satisfied with the car or repair. now, am i abliged to still pay the finance?, surely this is faulty goods & i ain't paying £190 p/m for a shed!!!
can anyone advise me on where i stand & what to do next?
thanks

the problem is not that of the finance company so you are not going to get out of paying them,i would be questioning the garage that changed the DMF personally.
The VAG ones are normally fairly reliable compared to the fords and french stuff,if it has been changed 3 times are they using a cheapo one and was clutch done aswell?
how many miles has the car done?
finally what are the symptoms and are you/garage 100% it is DMF failure and not something else?
1 dodgy one is bad enough but all 3 faulty i just dont see it personally0 -
They are probably thinking your abusing the clutch as a reason to reject the car.
If you stop paying the finance you will get a poor credit history because they will mark you down
for missed payments.
You need to write to the dealer and finance company explaining your position. But dont just stop paying
unless you want to risk being taken to court for it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Its mileage is currently 64k it was repaired @ 62k & 56k. Each time the clutch was also replaced. Seat were reluctant to let citroen fix it after the 1st mess up. Citroen were blaming the parts but im not convinced. In-competence seems the likely cause.
But what else is causing this fault to happen? (it ain't my driving!)
The bottom line is why should i have to pay for a car that's Not mechanically sound & spends most of the time in the garage? 'i don't mind paying a fair price for good's as long as they work'
Could i swap the car for something else?
Even the warranty department are getting !!!! off0 -
