Old paperwork

I had PPI on an old mortgage. Barclays claim they can't trace it. I have the mortgage offer stating there will be a "Mortgagecare" policy and the annual statements showing the monthly mortgage payments.
I don't have the MortgageCare policy or number. Is the offer and annual statements enough?

If the offer shows a monthly payment amount including "Mortgagecare", and your monthly statement shows the same amount, then I'd definitely challenge them.0

Unfortunately the offer doesn't specify an amount and the mortgage statement just shows the amount paid each month (no breakdown for interest and PPI).0

Why, though, do you think the policy was missold. Merely having it does not amount to a missale.0

I was employed and self employed and had rental income. All of these would have had to stop for me to be eligable to claim so it was never appropriate for me.0

Why would it stop you? Most MPPI cover self employed and employed. Rental income has no impact.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I would have needed to lose all three sources of income which wouldn't have realisticly been possible.0

Rental income doesnt impact on your earned income (unless your self employment is as property). Having two sources of earned income would.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Yes it would. If you fell ill you would not be able to do either job. If your tenant moved out at the same time your rental income would stop - but you would still have to meet the overheads of the property.0 -
OK. I have multiple properties that I pay tax on profits as I do for other self employed income. Even if I died these would continue (for a while anyway). PPI would not pay out in my situation then or now.0
