Good: Aviva and winter tyres

I rang up Aviva to tell them that my wife's car had just moved on to winter tyres. They said "No charge - we don't consider that a modification - indeed, its a jolly good idea".

What a lovely enlightened attitude! I was expecting there to be no increased premium, but was expecting to have to go through a load of bureaucracy.

Too many misreportings on this (subject) has led to people believing nonsense.

The ABI issued a policy statement for Insurers after last winters debacle on winter tyres. It was mainly misinformed call centre staff that applied the change as a modification.
