RBS/Natwest not answering phone

Natwest/RBS sent me a letter today saying i am not entitled to reclaim PPI as there was none on my bank A/C. I did'nt try to reclaim PPI on a bank A/C but a loan and i have the paperwork to prove it. Since then i've been trying to ring them to query this but their phone line puts you through (on freephone tel number) and you hold to a ringing tone for about seven minutes and then cut you off. I have been trying since mid-morning to no success. I have even tried the other tel number (0161 code) and that does the same but cuts you off after about six minutes. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi there
I think mondays are difficult to get thro' to any call centre particularly those that arent 24/7. I think if you left it to later in the week it should be easier or try at 8am. If I were in your position I would put it in writing to the ppi team along with a copy of your letter or email Stephen.Hester@rbs.co.uk.
Cheers and good luck.0 -
RBS don't seem to have a 'on hold system' on the phone and so if no one is there to answer the call is missed.
They really care about capturing every unhappy customer's concerns so they can put things right!
Keep trying though because they're usually helpful if you get through and you'll get lucky eventually.0
