Mike, we all know what you are really like. You have a thread that you started with HOW MANY replies? It is still going strong.
Don't waste your energy on comments that come out of ignorance.
See you on the BCSC

It has been pointed out on this thread at least 3 times that the purpose of this board is for support for people dealing with their debts, whether that's by cutting expenses and paying it all back, asking for a full and final settlement, an IVA or bankruptcy it's dealling with debt and that what the board is for.
I am going to close this thread here because it's deteriorated into a slanging match, as I and others have pointed out before the DT board is the place to discuss the rights and wrongs of bankruptcy and these threads usually end up being deleted by the abuse team because it's an emotive subject amd it brings out the worst in people.
If you don't agree with my decision to close the thread please report it to abuse by clicking the red triange at the bottom of the post.0 -
Thanks Richard
Ben and I had to do what was right in our own hearts. Millie (just 1) and our pending arrival (due 08/09/07) were our priority, in the end. With a DMP we would be 29 years from clearing our debt. Millie would be 30 years old, and would never have known any different.
Now, she will grow up knowing that credit is bad for you, and that there is nothing that she needs so badly that she can't save. Mummy & Daddy will tell her often that the only way they got out of trouble was to tell the judge that they didn't have the money to pay back what they owed. She will learn from our mistake.
Hope all is ok with you.

Well put, I'm sure you'll look back at some point in the future and be thankful that you had the courage to make what must have been a very painful decision.
In a lot of ways it's easier to succumb to the banks and agree a payment schedule that's detrimental to your long term health and welath. Then when you realise how you've been conned I suppose all you can say is "Well I had the decency to pay it all back"
All the best
