The system worked for my son!

Got the letter awarding HRM and HRC (which i don't think he gets personally as his adult placement is health funded)!
I asked them to review it when he left his residential school on the basis that although his needs hadn't changed the costs he had to bear had. I hadn't claimed while he was in school as the staffing and vehicles to take him out were paid by the school's funding for him.
Now he has to pay his own mileage, travel for staff accompanying him etc.
Was worried as his needs are behavioural and linked with his autism and he is only mildly physically disabled ( he is ataxic). But sent off all evidence, including the assessment of needs done by health and it is sorted! This is going to make a big difference to the activities he can access!
It does sometimes go right!
Good luck to all those in similar situations and hang on in there all those who are fighting this blasted system!
