Price Comparison Does not recognise my house!!

Hi all,
I have a problem when searching for utilities, water, home insruance etc. using price comparison or by phone. The database does not recognise that the house I am buying has been converted from flats in to a single dwelling.
Therefore, everytime I try to get a quote they dont recognise the house.... they will only quote me for a particular flat!
Anyone have any ideas how I can get this updated please?
Thanks!

They will source their address list from Post Office at a guess so you need to get them to update their records. Under the help for 'new house not listed' they direct you here http://www2.royalmail.com/postcode-finder-address-enquiry-form try filling the form in explaining the issue having first checked on www.royalmail.com what addresses show up for your postcode.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

If you have the meter numbers, just enter your address manually on the comparison site, it'll probably then ask you for the meter numbers, put them in and there shouldnt be a problem, this happened at a flat I lived at a couple of years ago.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

I've never put my address into a comparison site for utilities. Why would you do that?0

You could stick in any old postcode from the local area, they only use it to get the relevant cost data. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

You can't search for water utility options-there aren't any.
All the comp sites for the other utilities (electricity gas) are postcode driven and do not require your fulll address for comparison purposes-only for actual sign up.
Similarly, telecoms (phone and broadband) comparisons are driven by phone number, not address.
Home insurance will obviously require the full address. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks guys.
But that doesn't solve the problem.
How can I get these databases updated?0 -

The OP says he can't get a quote.
Agreed he won't be able to switch but for a quote I just enter SW1A 1AA and get the quote.0
