Android - clueless user - please help

I bought an Archos 70 after seeing it on QVC and have a 30 day trial and can send it back if it isn't right.

I can't get some of the iPlayers to work - Channel 4, Sky, ITV etc and can't seem to see any apps to help.

Also, I can't find an easy way to get video onto it - dvd's are protected so can't be copied, tried using Blinkbox - downloaded to a PC and then dragged across to Archos but it freezes and won't play even though the file seems to be there.

This is our first venture into Android tech and I am completely out of my depth - web searching hasn't helped 'cos a lot of stuff is directed at the US market and more apps seem Apple based that Android.

Have a netbook already but this Archos seemed to be great for the interactive screen (whatever it's called) and the fact it is only 7".

I'd welcome any help or pointers to useful sites for apps, help etc.

Thanks
:hello:

I think that the Archos 70 doesn't have access to the standard Android market, however the manufacturer would have their own market for you to get apps from, there should be an app already installed to take you there - look at the user guide (you should find the full guide on the Archos website if one didn't come in the box!)

Videos will need to be encoded in a format that the tablet can read, so again look at the manual for the supported formats and you may need to convert the file

Review of the Archos 70 tablet. It explains about access to the Android market. It is possible but you need to download Arc-tools from the AppsLib (Archos's own apps store). It says that AppsLib also has Flash Player app to give full flashplayer 10.1 support, I don't know if this is why you are having problems with the iPlayers or not but worth a try.
