Buildings Insurance - Mortgagee Interest

Hi all,

I am now in the final stages of completing a house purchase, and as such have arranged buildings insurance.

Whilst completing the required information I entered Yorkshire Building society as my mortgage lender, but I see on my documents it refers to Barclays Private Clients.

Is this a mistake, or does it somehow relate to a how Yorkshire Building society is set-up.

Any help appreciated.

Ollie

No idea. You will have to ask them and get it corrected if necessary.

It is important that it is corrected, as in the event of a large claim, the Insurers might approach the wrong company. My understanding is that Insurers in the event of receiving a large Buildings claim ie. fire, subsidence, sometimes inform the mortgage company listed on the Insurance.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.
