i want to get on the property ladder, but wanted to buy-to-let, rent the place out to cover my mortgage costs (not make a profit) for 2 years, and live with my parents until my circumstances change in 2 years time (ie. i get a job that pays decent money!)
...but a friend tells me they are for over 25's only.... unless you have had a normal mortgage before 25...is this true?? I'm only 22 so that kind of scuppers my plans to get on the ladder if that is the case...

You only need to be 21 to get a BTL mortgage, so you will be fine on that score. However most don't accept first time buyers so see a broker who will point you in the direction of those that do.0
