You're going to be looking for a long time if you only have £100 to spend. Entry level price point for a refurbished netbook or laptop is around £130. Here's a typical example:

Sorry for the slight hijack, but I'm interested in this thread as I'm also in the market for a cheap laptop / netbook ( refurbished is fine for me ). Is that Laptops Direct a kosher company ? There are so many companies around if you simply do a Google ! I also came across this one :
https://www.cheaplaptopcompany.co.uk
Does anyone know if they're OK ?
Many thanks.0 -

Laptops direct have been around for a long time, don't know about cheap laptop company though but their prices seem realistic. You should also take a look at morgan computers: http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk they've been around for as long as I can remember. Personally I'd avoid any on line company that does not have a land line number and physical address on their website.0 -

Bentham Ltd purchased the Morgan Computers website in November 2009.

Beware though, this only has a 3 month warranty, and you have to ask yourself why. Another reason it is cheap is that there is no Windows licence to pay as it only runs Android 2.1. This OS is designed for touchscreens, but this Acer isn't one of those. You may want to download an OS more suited to it (Android Honeycomb 3.1?)AirCooledHeaven wrote: »You're going to be looking for a long time if you only have £100 to spend. It claims that you can switch to Windows 7....Hmmmm... I certainly would not trust them.0 -

i was more worried about buying from some dodgey company, as you put cheap notebook into google and you get many sites pop up. but nothing i reconise.
