CBT - Birmingham

Options
Hi,

Does anyone know where are the cheapest places to do a CBT in Birmingham.

Maybe with a student offer or a mid week offer?

Many Thanks

With CBT don't go for the cheapest. It's very important to get it right and there are plenty of cowboys out there who will take shortcuts.

Ask a number of authorised training bodies the following questions:_

How long does it take? It should be the best part of a day on a geared bike for someone with no riding experience.

What is the ratio of pupils to instructor during elements A to D. The maximum allowed is 4 to 1 but if a school only does 2 to 1 then you will get a much better standard of tuition.

What is their policy should you not complete the CBT in one day? Do they charge extra if you have to come back for more tuition? How much do they charge if the answer is yes?

The last part of the CBT entails going on the road for a minimum of two hours so make sure they adhere to this.

Go and watch a few CBT's at some of the schools to see the numbers they are training.

With winter on its way there may be good deals to be had and many schools do charge less for a midweek CBT.

Thank you, I will be trying to balance this with the lowest cost. Birmingham CBT costs that I have found are not that resonable compared to some other cities I have lived in. So if I don't find a good deal I will go to one of these cities as long as the cost petrol does not exceed the saving. (Im a poor student!)

    Any school recomendations?

I live a long way from Birmingham so I can't assist you there.

But remember one thing. You need a good start when riding a motorcycle for the first time so that should be your main concern, getting taught properly rather than looking for the cheapest.
