Car insurance claim possible write-off advice?

Trouble is it doesn't work like that.
If there is no dispute over liability, many insurers hand over non fault claims to the likes of Drive Assist to sort out, using expensive credit repairs/credit hire etc.
But if you are able to go direct to the third party, they are happy to look after you as they see you saving them all the costs that DA and others cause them.
But it does work like that doesn't it? The premium will go up no matter what.
My experience is that if you are in the clear, the more it looks like costing, the quicker it gets fixed. The nail that sticks out most gets hammered first etc.
If you had two claims running side by side, absolutely identical apart from the fact one is costing you twice the price each day then I know which one would want to be cleared off first.
Its the reason that getting the car recovered to a yard at £25 a day is better than having it sitting on the drive at £0 per day. No motivation to get it sorted.Plus all the other advantages already listed of claiming direct from the guilty party!
Many of which I said I agree with - but not in this case so they don't apply.
Lets agree to disagree eh?

No point debating this issue - your advice differs from mine, so what?
But regarding watchdog, a claim is a claim, an incident is an incident where a loss could be involved but the policyholder does not wish to make a claim.
The watchdog moaners had incidents on their records which they did not disclose to new insurers (in breach of the policy ts + cs). You will see in post #3 I did advise the OP to notify their insurer of the incident!
The insurer has been notified already.0 -
not all insurers load for a non fault accident...
claiiming direct from TP would almost guarentee DA and the likes NOT getting the business ( credit hire one of the reasons why our premiums are on the UP)Sealed pot challenger # 10
