AOL Ad Banners

Does anyone know how to get rid of those pain in a bum add banners that track what you've looked for on the Internet? I've ended up with a roofing one that turns my screen black for a few seconds everytime the ad changes - it's driving me nuts!

I don't have broadband with aol now, they were too expensive is it one of the things I have to put up with if I want to keep my email address?

you only need to sign into aol to check/write emails

If you use Firefox as your browser get the Adblock Plus and Flashblock add-ons. You'll find adverts will be a thing of the past.

If you only check one account on Always Off Line then you could use mailwasher free, it can be set to check at intervals, making a sound and flashing a task bar icon when new mail is received. It does a good job with spam and does not bother you with alerts for those.
