  • Sorry .... don't really understand what it does myself properly :o It's used for auto-immune diseases such as Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis as well as others (arthritis type ones)

Really should do some more reading up on it - but TBH I purposely haven't as its a pretty toxic drug & can have horrendous side effects so thought I'd be better not knowing too much* .

I was given the choice of having them or surgery so decided I'd rather go with them & not delve too deeply into what it does for a while!

    * eg 2nd sentence in the link above.... "These infections may need to be treated in a hospital and may cause death"

""Infliximab injection is in a class of medications called tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of TNF-alpha, a substance in the body that causes inflammation."

    Errrrrr :o

  • I am a total idiot:mad: and yesterday wasn't obviously one of my better days with the iron and .... woke up at around 2am you know one of those wake ups when you literally jump out of bed and go "nooooooooo" ...

My sub-conscious had obviously finally remembered that I had a prescription to pick up from the Drs yesterday, after I'd been at my OH Appt :(.

Just been & checked through my meds as thought I'd have to call in on the way back from hosp on Friday and ..... I don't have enough of one to last until then:(

I never let them get this low - it's one of the additional meds I'm taking just now and for some silly reason they only gave me 28 days supply and I hadn't realised:( (they've given me weeks & weeks worth of the others).

Ohhhh literally just had a thought - wonder if the chemist owes me some - that does happen quite a lot here (very small chemist) ... have a vague recollection they owe me something - wish they'd give you the sticker for the packet (they do in B00ts as I always forget I've got stuff owed) .... will phone them first :)

Fingers crossed as I could really do without having to go to town again today ....

Hope you get it fixed ... How's the cats today ?
  • Ta - so hoping the chemist does owe me some - will still collect new prescription on Fri on the way past, but it'd be such a waste of fuel if I have to make a special trip just for that (town is 8 miles away :() today.

Cats errrrr - having their moments - I've left her some food & a litter tray in the lounge but have the door open.

Thought this way I can separate them quickly if needed but also thought it might help if they don't have to come into contact as much as usual (they usually share food / litter tray which is upstairs).

They're still hissing / growling whenever they see each other & did have a bit of a barny yesterday :( but thankfully it fizzled out fairly quickly.

Wee cat had ventured upstairs during the night and was asleep in the en-suite this morning (hot water pipes run underneath the floor so it's lovely & warm in there;) they're not silly!) and big cat was in the spare room in the bed in front of the radiator ..... so they were both upstairs and hopefully a sign things may be settling down.

Fingers crossed they do for you
  • Brrrrrrr it's a bit bloomin' chilly ..... was cold on & off all day yesterday and ended up having to put heating on during the day (1st time!)

Getting a bit worried - if I'm going to be in the house for at least another month then that could impact heating bills quite a lot :(

Debating whether to order another set of thermals - in "normal circs" I have enough as have thinner vests for work days (office is a lot warmer than my house ;)) and have 2 long sleeved thick vests & leggings (one each for Sat & Sun) and a couple of short sleeved ones that do for walking the dog during the week.

But struggling a bit just now to keep these washed & dry (feel like I'm washing constantly :( - and def not warm enough with just the short sleeved ones when I'm in the house all day.

Could just do without having to buy more when it's a short term problem ... but it's coming up to the coldest months :(

Off to have a bath & defrost a bit!

It was -1 degrees for me driving to work. How about having your duvet on the sofa? That's what I do when it's really cold :)

Hope you manage to get your meds sorted!
