  • you could just make your own! just get a jar or something a glue the lid on! or the tins are much better, just use a can opener!

i have been selling things on ebay, and when i get the money i withdraw it from the bank, and put it in my pots. we're opening it this xmas and should have enough for all presents, christmas day dinner and treats! and maybe alcohol too! x

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

  • Never heard of them to be honest.

What i do have though, is a mini plastic safe that i bought from 'The gadget shop' when it was around, to open the safe, it requires you to supply a code, which i have since forgotten, i have had it for a few years now and its brimming with change and pound notes. I might have to smash the thing open soon as its far too close to christmas for my liking, hoping there's a good few hundred quid in there :P so i can treat my self and family.

I did look them up once but was too tight to buy something i was going to smash in a yrs time!:rotfl:In august i salvaged a large plastic tub with a lid off a family member and have been putting change in there, been doing it for 3 months and nearly on 60pounds! Saving up for days out nxt summer so if i can keep it up will be able to have some good days out :T To stop me raiding it i have a sheet of paper and a pen in the tub and everytime i put money in i write down the date and running total so i can see exactly how i'm doing, this puts me off taking anything out and having to delete it off my list!

  • We use the tins from the pound shop for our savings...wouldnt dream of buying something to smash up.

We decorate with whatever is relevant to our savings.....i.e. my daughter saved to go to Australia..it is was decorated with pictures from a travel mag and then clear sticky back plastic bought from tesco (enough to cover approx 3 tins) ....then another of my daughters saved to go to camp america and we decorated with usa flags and if its xmas savings...with christmas pics etc etc
  • Hi can i warn you to be careful where you keep your tins. I had one which was sadly taken when I was broken into. Keep saving but carefully x

HAve a whisky jar we never seem to fill. Tried using old coffee jars (smaller), no good as we usually pay with debit cards and dont have much change around. Now use the old fashioned standing order method into a savings account lol
