I just have a bottle i put quids into. and everything smaller. (10 & 50ps etc won't fit) I just tend to put all my change i get after being on the drink the night before as i always come home with a mass of loose change. I keep dipping into it when i need the odd £3 for footy though so there's only about £100 in there atm.0

I have 2 of the large coin tins that I use for pound coins..
a large 4.5 litre whisky jar (with the cap superglued and a slit down the middle) for loose change (about 1/3 full)
And one on the pots you have to smash open with money for next years holiday
I have savings account n all the rest but its nice when you remember you have been putting money in the tins then opening it finding £700 odd0 -
We've got one, which we're using to save up for our holiday next year.
It's easy to take money out of a normal piggy bank or a bank account ~ not as easy if you have to smash something! We've got notes in ours too, so can't get them out with a knife.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
By the way, this isn't really "Up Your Income". Should be under savings?0

I got some of these tins. I got them from ESK for 99p each so picked up a couple. Going to put money in there that I get from selling stuff. Also want to try the £1 a day challenge for next year. Give me a nice amount for the christmas shopping.Make £2012 in 2012 #115: £919.86 / £2012

I had the Terramundi pots for £2 coin collection... I managed to accumulate £500 in over a year. But since I've moved, I now have a loose change jar for everything below 50p at the end of the day and another 'improved' £2 coin jar... The aim is to amass about £1000 (both jars are big sweet jars, I enjoyed emptying those! :EasterBun )
So by next Christmas, I should have a good amount to start putting a deposit for a house together...:o:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -

Not if it is nearly full with £2 coins! (I have tried - it is the weight of the coins).
I had it for over 3 years, and don't get that many £2 coins, but I know there is £550+ in there. (It is over 4kg in weight!)Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
