basic bread - is it any good?

    Tesco and Asda smartprice bread is fine - much nicer for toast than some of the premium breads such as Hovis and Worbuttons.

    homemade bread only here. at least i know what is going in it that way.

    I make my own bread but dont like it for toast. Basics, smartpriceor even better anything reduced to about 20p is fine for toast.

    I only have wholemeal HM for myself but i get the cheapest basic bread i can, to feed the birds in the garden and they've never complained.

    i bought value wholemeal bread before because it was reduced to 9p it was ok and i would buy it again if it was reduced but for the price diference involved i'd rather pay the extra for tesco own

  • i find tesco value bread fine, not tried the sainsburys one though

  • we very rearly buy bread and bread products that arnt value unless on offer
    have tried all of the following basic breads and no complaints ( i cant comment personaly as I will only eat Weight watchers bread due to the high pro-point values in Bread)

    Lidl's own we have regualy and is absolutly fine

    Tesco white value is well liked and doesnt taste much different

    sainsburys basic brown ok and whit ok but hard to get white basic in local sainsbury's

    aldi own white was very nice

    have had asda smart price and that's ok too all in all a good way to help save a few pennies
