Car insurance Query

I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me; I had a full Northern Irish driving licence for nearly 10 years, I was also fully insured during this time. When I moved to Scotland I updated my address and was issued with a full UK licence, which is valid from June 2011.
I have recently been looking into car insurance, and it now looks as though I have only been driving for 4 months, because of the effective date of the new licence! which is affecting the premiums.

Can anyone advise if there is any way around this, as last time I checked Northern Ireland was definitely part of the UK!!

Cheers

  • It will also say it expires 10 years from issue date! It's the valid from for that photo I believe, look on the back & see if there is an earlier date on there? Mine says 98 on there but 08 on the front from when the photo was renewed!

Sounds like it's only the photocard that's been updated.
Check on the back for the dates of your entitlement.
