Potatoes - where to start? (Merged Thread)

It really depends what potatoes they are. Earlies, main crop etc as to when they will be big enough to pull out but if they are sown april they might be main crop which will crop sometime september or october. Im also no authority and im sure there are many more here much more knowledgable but thats just my experience0

I'm not an authority on growing spuds as I only started last year, but my friend and I shared a bag of seed potatoes and I did brilliantly (about a stone of spuds from 6 seed potatoes) where she got pretty much nothing. We both grew them in containers, she tucked hers away in the shade and mine were out in the sun against a south-facing wall. So I guess they like the light and the warmth.

they were already sprouted before I put them under soil in the garden and I will also do what you said about them and move them in to the sunMarkAldridge0 -
