Hi,
Not sure what your budget is but we stayed at a 2/3 star place called Hotel Kleber which is bang on half way between the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe. Its about 5mins walk to each place and only 2mins to the nearest Metro. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -
we are looking at around £80-£90 max per night
thanks will take a look at that hotel now0 -
I stayed here about 10 years ago (when it was quite good and quite cheap) so have no idea what it is like now. It is 100m from the gare de l'est and 300m from the gare du nord (Eurostar)

I must admit I chose it mainly for its name and am ashamed to say that I still have small stolen towel with the name embossed on it.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.
Hope that helps0 -
Google hotel de la sorbonne. It's located in the heart of the latin quarter. It's only a 2* but it's clean and well located. The rooms are very small but you don't go to Paris to spend all your time in a hotel room! It's a great base for exploring paris. It's over the road from the sorbonne, 2mins to the luxumbourg gardens, 10mins walk to notre dame, 15mins walk to the louvre. It's also a 2 minute walk from Luxumbourg RER station where you can catch a direct train to the airport. You can also travel to the Champs eleyse, the eiffel tower and Disney (via a connection at Chatelet les Halles)
If you book through their website you can sometimes get it for £40 a night. Very good value for Paris.
When booking any hotel, always check the reviews on tripadvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.com0
