Me again

Good afternoon to you . Hope you ever helpful folks can point me in the right direction . " questions but this is the most pressing .

What I want is the simplest way to write a letter on line .

No word processing in fact just like a blank sheet of paper so what I write is what I get from the printer .

Secondly , can you think about this one . Have a new monitor and very pleased with it . Yet just on one or two games it gives me the message " out of range ". It is a 2 millisecond response screen and has a maximum resolution of 1369x768 . Again any help would be great .

  • What is the connection you are using for the Monitor?

Regarding sending text directly to a printer, well in the old days you used to be able to go to a command prompt and type:

    copy con LPT1

This would take the input from the console and send it to the LPT1 port (Usually the printer). I guess now you are using a USB printer so it's a little more complicated. To be honest I'm not sure why you would want to do this anyhow. If you just want to send a plain text file to a printer, use Notepad. If you are in Windows (Which I am assuming you are) just click on start, type "Notepad" and press enter, or if you are on an old version of windows press start->Run, then type notepad.exe and press enter, this will load up a basic text editor that you can then send to the printer once done.

    Cheers,

    Dave.
  • Thanks . Sorry to be thick but is is the connector that came with the monitor .

"wordpad" is a bit nicer on the eyes
